Chelsea have been encouraged to keep hold of midfielder Conor Gallagher at the end of the season.

Gallagher had been in the transfer headlines alot this season as it was believed that the club would have allowed him to depart the club if the right offer was made.

That has led to constant speculation in the media that West Ham are very keen to try and get a deal done for the midfielder – and even made an offer of £40 million, which was rejected by the Blues as they were seeking closer to £50 million for Gallagher.

He has featured in the opening months of the season for Mauricio Pochettino, but he has not shone like many had hoped for and that has led to alot of speculation that he will be allowed to depart the club.

And according to recent reports on the Metro website – we will listen to offers for the midfielder and will allow him to depart the club should their £40 million asking price be met.

However, Gallas has urged the club to keep their home-grown talent and look to other players to raise funds.

CHELSEA won’t sell Reece James, you have to keep players who have come through the academy and you need players with that identity,’ the Frenchman said.

‘He is the captain, but unfortunately, he is often injured – despite this, we should keep him. It’s the same for Connor Gallagher, they both have to stay.

‘I know that there are problems with the finances at the moment, but they have to sell another player to fix this.’
