Atletico Madrid will put long-term Chelsea target Antoine Griezmann up for sale so that they can fund a move for Cristiano Ronaldo, reports have claimed

Reports over the last month have claimed the Portuguese star is not happy at Old Trafford and wants to leave to play Champions League football and play his final years at the very top of European football.

Ronaldo has never played Europa League football since his days right at the beginning of his career and considering that he is now 37-years of age – does not intend to start now

Bayern Munich and even Premier League rivals Chelsea have been linked as possible next clubs for the icon this summer, after he was left out of Man United’s pre-season tour squad.

However – it has been claimed that Atletico are also interested in signing the Portuguese superstar in a deal that has angered a lot of fans that hate the Man United star for his time with arch-rivals Real Madrid

And according to The Times – The Spanish side are eager to sign the Portuguese attacker from Manchester United, but they must make space on their wage budget before they can afford him.

And the reports claims that the Spanish giants are now ready to cash in on Griezmann in order to fund a deal for Ronaldo – which could open the door for the club to make a move

It is no secret that we are massive fans of Griezmann and have tried to secure a transfer deal for his services in the past – but have never been able to convince him to come to the Premier League

The rumours that Ronaldo could be making a stunning move to Atletico have come out of nowhere – the fans really do not want the club to sign him and have made threats that they will boycott the club

Griezmann may not be the player that he once was – but he is still a world class act that would be seen as a real statement signing for the club
