Chelsea free to sign Premier League powerhouse for just £30 million
Chelsea are now able to buy Ivan Toney for a cut-price £30million, as Brentford continue to look to get the big man sold.
Toney is a player that many of the big clubs have been linked with over the past few months as he is regarded as one of the best strikers in the Premier League, but despite all the speculation and rumours – nobody has made a move for the player.
It is no secret that the club are massive fans of the big man – but it has been claimed that he would not suit the style of that Blues attack and that is why Enzo Maresca has not yet sanctioned a move for the England star.
However – The Times claims his club Brentford have significantly reduced his fee as his contract runs down, and the Bees are reluctant to lose their star man for nothing next summer and will accept £30 million.
Amid all the transfer speculation and rumours – Teddy Sheringham has urged Chelsea to sign the striker – he recently told Genting Casinos: “I think Ivan Toney would be a fantastic signing for CHELSEA or anyone in London. Any one of those clubs would have him, he is a fantastic player who would enhance any of those sides I’ve just mentioned.
“I don’t know what’s happened to his form, but I think a player of his stature can give a lot to a football team, he is a leader who knows his position and is coming into the prime of his career. I think he would be a great asset.”
