Chelsea all free to sign up midfielder after Lampard told target Gomes is leaving

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Chelsea target Angel Gomes is yet to sign a contract extension and will leave Manchester United.

Frank Lampard is trying to put together one of the most exciting sides in the Premier League and is looking to add to that talent when the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.

There was speculation in the media suggesting that we are interested in trying to steal Gomes away from Manchester United in the summer, as the 19-year-old is out of contract with the Red Devils ends today, when he will be free to leave for nothing.

Now it seems that we have been given the green light to try and complete a deal for the exciting Gomes, after Solskjaer opened up and confirmed that the young man will not be leaving the club when his contract is up.

A club statement said: “Manchester United can confirm that Angel Gomes has not taken up the offer of a new contract and has, therefore, left the club.

“Everybody at Manchester United would like to wish Angel the very best of luck for the future and thank him for his efforts for the club.”

We only move for the best talents around and if they truly believe that Gomes will add something to the side in the coming seasons, then yes, they should get a deal done.

But as we said, it will be interesting to see just how this all plays out, as there is alot of interest in the young man from us and a number of clubs, so Gomes will have options in the coming transfer window.
