Brentford manager Thomas Frank says he has no intention of letting goalkeeper and Chelsea target David Raya leave the club.

There are still a few weeks to go in the transfer window – meaning that the Blues still have plenty of time to do some more business – and now it seems that Raya is a man that the club are interested in.

Kepa has been decent since coming back into the side this season – but still looks like a man that can make a mistake or two – while Edouard Menyd has been out for some time and is considering his future at the club.

That has led to some shock speculation in the media over the past few days that the club are one of the clubs that are now interested in trying to Prise David Raya away from Brentford this month

The Spanish international goalkeeper has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham, with Raya’s contract in west London set to expire in June 2024.

However – amid the speculation, Frank has now opened up and announced that he will not be letting Raya leave the club: “All my players, I would like to hold onto them forever,” said Frank after Brentford’s 0-0 draw at Leeds.

“David is one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He’s in good form, he has everything a goalkeeper needs to have. He’s ours for the next one-and-a-half years and the good thing is we have decided not to do anything for one-and-a-half years.

“They [interested clubs] will need to pay a lot of money.”

Look, Frank may want to keep hold of Raya for the forseeable future – but at the end of the day guys – if the right offer comes in and the Spaniard asks for the move – what can the club do?
