Chelsea fc news: Maresca makes £106M admission, £50M star quality Blues signing, Gyokeres claim made
Here is the latest Chelsea news and gossip from icchelseanews that you guys could have missed…
CHELSEA FC’s interest in Borussia Dortmund’s young attacker, Karim Adeyemi, has garnered attention as Enzo Maresca continues to reshape the squad and he could be a very good signing according to reporter Iomie Stanley
He told icfootballnews: ‘ Adeyemi has shown tremendous potential during his time at Borussia Dortmund, consistently using his pace and agility to break down defensive lines in the Bundesliga. This speed would be a tremendous asset in the Premier League, where defenders are known for their physicality and need to be consistently outpaced and outmaneuvered. With Adeyemi’s ability to quickly move into open spaces and create scoring opportunities, he could transform Chelsea’s attack.
‘In addition to his speed, Adeyemi possesses a strong technical skill set. His dribbling allows him to navigate tight spaces and go one-on-one against defenders—qualities that are invaluable in a highly competitive league.
‘Furthermore, his ability to play on both flanks or as a central striker would add a level of flexibility to Chelsea’s lineup, allowing Maresca to deploy him in multiple formations or tactical setups.
‘Moreover, Adeyemi’s willingness to press and track back aligns well with Maresca’s vision of high-intensity football. This approach could help CHELSEA implement an aggressive press, making Adeyemi not only a threat on offense but also an asset in quickly regaining possession.
‘Karim Adeyemi’s age and potential make him a great fit for Chelsea’s long-term strategy. As the club aims to build a team capable of sustained success, bringing in a player like Adeyemi—who can develop and improve within the Premier League—would be a wise investment’
GYOKERES WOULD BE QUALITY SIGNING
CHELSEA FC is reportedly eyeing Sporting Lisbon’s powerhouse striker, Viktor Gyökeres, as the January transfer window approaches, and he could be a great signing according to reporter Iomie Stanley.
Gyokeres is one of a number of Sporting CP players who could leave the Portuguese club in the wake of Ruben Amorim’s departure, with CHELSEA likely to chase the former Coventry striker once again.
O Jogo reports that Gyokeres’ is “dissatisfied” with the decision of the head coach to depart for Manchester United, as the Portuguese boss was one of the main reasons that he stayed in the summer window.
Stanley said: ‘Viktor Gyökeres has developed into a forceful presence at Sporting Lisbon, known for his combination of physicality, finishing ability, and aerial strength. Chelsea, under Enzo Maresca, has been experimenting with various attacking formations but still lacks a consistent target man who can lead the line effectively.
‘Gyökeres, with his 6’2” frame and skill in holding up play, would provide a classic center-forward option that CHELSEA currently lacks.
‘The Swedish international’s ability to score in high-pressure situations and create space for teammates would add a new dimension to Chelsea’s attack. His high work rate and pressing ability align well with Maresca tactics, which emphasize aggressive pressing and fluid transitions. This could make Gyökeres an ideal fit for Chelsea’s high-tempo game, adding physicality and finesse to their offensive lineup.
He added: ‘While Chelsea has the financial clout to pursue top talent, Sporting Lisbon won’t be eager to part ways with one of their star players. Having only recently acquired Gyökeres from Coventry City, Sporting will likely set a high price tag on the Swedish striker to ward off interest.
‘However, Chelsea’s recent transfer history shows that the club is willing to pay a premium for players who can contribute to their long-term vision.’
FERNANDEZ ADMISSION MADE
Enzo Maresca insists he ‘still trusts’ CHELSEA star Enzo Maresca after explaining why he has dropped the £106 million star in recent weeks after a bright start to the new season.
Fernandez began the season as a key player under the boss, captaining the side as he started six of their opening seven games, but he was named among the subs in against Liverpool and Newcastle United however with his only starts in recent weeks coming in the Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup.
Since returning from a hamstring injury, Romeo Lavia has been part of that, partnering Moises Caicedo in midfield and Maresca has now opened up and revealed why he has dropped Fernandez from his starting eleven in the Premier League over the past few weeks.
What has Maresca said?
‘First of all, it’s a matter of balance,’ Enzo told a press conference on Friday, explaining his recent midfield partnership. In this moment, Romeo and Moises give us physicality and strength in the middle. This is the reason why we found the option with Malo [Gusto] in the pocket.’
‘I show frustration with Enzo? I show frustration will all of them,’ Maresca added.
‘I don’t only look at Enzo. I still trust Enzo. There is not any reason I can lose confidence in him. The reason he is not playing in the Premier League is because I take another decision but I have 100% confidence in him.
‘I like to say that we don’t have an A team or B team. There are players that are fantastic players, but for me, we don’t have indispensable players. If Cole [Palmer] is not playing, we are playing Joao [Felix] and if Nico [Jackson] isn’t playing, we are playing Christo [Christopher Nkunku].
‘The reason why we change players is because all of them are good. Some of them are better than the rest but it doesn’t mean they are always the ones that are going to play.
‘You are looking for some different reasons for Enzo, but it’s simple: he is not playing at the moment but we have so many games in the future so it does not mean he is not going to play.’
