Chelsea fans told that new signing Werner ‘will come good’ and here is why

Timo Werner will come good for Chelsea despite a disappointing night against Wolves, Joe Cole has claimed.

Regarded as one of the finest and most exciting strikers in the game right now, Werner netted an impressive 34-goals last season over in the German League, which prompted the club to fork out the cash to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Having taken a few weeks to get off the mark, Werner smashed six goals in five games through October and early November, but his rollercoaster start to life in West London has seen the German’s form dip in an eight-game scoreless spell.

Tuesday’s trip to Wolves saw the 24-year-old fire off three shots, as many as any player, and again fail to score, and there are many out there that have now doubted whether or not the player will be good enough to reach 20-goals this season.

But despite his lack of goals, Former Blues star Cole has assured fans that the forward only needs to make minor adjustments to find form, He told Amazon Prime: “I think Werner, when he comes in off that left, he’s very, very dangerous.

“I just think he just needs to brush up on his finishing, but he’s a young striker and he will do that.

“So I’ve got no doubts he’ll be a top player for Chelsea, but there are options now and [Frank Lampard] needs to move it around.”

Werner is a very young man that needs time to adapt to the Premier League, maybe this move came too early, or maybe he is just not happy at the club. But as we said, he is a very young man that needs to get used to the Premier League.
