£109 million rated defender Gimenez opens up and hands Chelsea boost in transfer chase?

Jose Gimenez has admitted he loved Chelsea as a child and that he would have liked to have played with Frank Lampard during his career.

We may be getting many in the Premier League excited for the start of next season, especially with the transfer deals that they have already done, but they need to delve into that kitty and land a new central defender.

We conceded more goals at the back than any side in the top 10 of the Premier League, and will not be able to challenge for that title if frank Lampard does not get the defensive players that will improve the side.

And that has led to speculation in the media which have claimed that we are lining up a possible transfer move for the very impressive Gimenez, who is very highly-rated over in La Liga and is also being chased by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Now, amid all the transfer speculation surrounding the player and he has come out and got Blues fans going crazy that a possible deal could take place, although we would have to break the transfer record to get a deal done.

In his latest interview has given the club a boost, with him saying: “I would have liked to play with Lampard. I always used to watch Chelsea as a kid, loved them.”

Look, we are massive fans of Gimenez and if there is a chance that he could come to the club, he would be welcomed with open arms, the man is a top-class defender that could be a real star for us.
