Chelsea to end transfer saga of £40M star and get summer deal done?

Chelsea will end the Ivan Toney transfer saga soon, according to reporter Iomie Stanley

He has scored 72 goals for them in 141 appearances, making another 23, inspiring the club to promotion in 2021 and breaking into the England squad last year and becoming one of the best strikers in the Premier League in process.

There are many clubs interested in signing Toney – but they may be more interested in signing him on a free transfer next summer as the 28-year-old has a year left on his contract and in traditional market circumstances he would be hot property.

But these are not traditional times, with even the very top clubs looking towards young players with sell-on value – which has seen Chelsea ake a number of signings already this summer that have all been signed on long-term contracts.

But amid all the speculation regarding the future of Toney – Stanley has come out and we are one of the favourites to end the saga of the Brentford striker soon – he said:’We are surprised that no club have signed Ivan Toney yet – we are surprised that he is still at Brentford – but we are not surprised to see that CHELSEA have not made a move for the big man.

‘Even though he could be a great signing for the Blues – he does not have any real sell on value and that the board are looking for and that is why they dont want to pay too much money for the player.

‘But he would suit the style of play at the Bridge and to be honest – they are still one of the favourites to get a transfer deal done – if anybody is going to end the transfer saga surrounding Toney – it will be Chelsea.
