Chelsea linked Depay opens up and responds to speculation and sends message to fans

Chelsea’s summer transfer target Memphis Depay has reassured Lyon he remains focused after scoring in their 4-1 win over Monaco on Sunday.

Manchester United decided to offload Depay in 2017 after the winger failed to make the kind of impact that many expected after his big money move to Old Trafford, but the Dutchman has re-established himself in France with some eye-catching patches of form and his performances have actually linked him with a move back to the Premier League.

There has been reports that we may seek to try and bring him back to the Premier League in a bargain deal, as Frank Lampard wants to add some more goals to his side in the coming transfer windows.

But after seeing Depay net in the 4-1 win over Monaco at the weekend, Depay has opened up and reassured Lyon he remains focused on his job, rather than all the speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League, or to Barcelona.

“I have always been focused on OL, even in the transfer window. My future is no excuse for not doing my job,” Depay told Telefoot.

“As a player, I always want to be my best and add something to the team.”

Depay is certainly putting in the performances that would attract the big clubs, but can he really cut it at a big club if they actually make a firm offer in the transfer windows, that will be the big question that he will need to answer.

There was a point that a move for the man would have been great for us, but not anymore.
