Ousmane Dembele’s agent insists there is ‘no doubt’ that the French winger will stay at Barcelona, amid speculation Chelsea are lining up a move this January.

The 21-year old as been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons ever since making the £131 million move to Barcelona just over a year ago, and has been constantly linked with a move to Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea with reports Barcelona are ready to cash in and try to bring back Neymar.

And with reports Eden Hazard is destined for a mega money move to Barcelona’s rivals Real Madrid in a deal worth £200 million, a move away for Dembele looked much more likely than him actually staying and fighting for his Career at the Camp Nou.

But the player’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, is adamant that he will remain at Barca, telling the RMC website: ‘There is no doubt about his future, at all, Ousmane continues to work, he is in a big club and [Ernesto] Valverde loves him, and he is also in the national team and Deschamps continues to trust him.

‘If he is with France today it is because he deserves it, I also spoke with Eric Abidal and he told me that he is very happy with him, that he is training very well.

Would Dembele be the right fit for Chelsea in the future?

The Frenchman was one of the most exciting and talented youngsters in Europe before he made the move to Barca, but since his switch to the big time he has been plagued by injuries and poor performances, which has hindered his development.

But Barcelona still have plans for him as he was a long-term investment and Chelsea may have to wait a few years before they should actually make any kind of move, as Dembele has plenty of growing up to do before he is ready for the Premier League.

But if they could prise him away from Barca in the next few seasons, and he continues to add goals to his game, then he may well be a great signing by the club.
