Sarri opens up and officially announces Higuain to Chelsea deal will be done ‘in next few hours’

Maurizio Sarri has announced Gonzalo Higuain will be announced as a Chelsea player in the next few hours.

After getting past a few stumbling blocks which were holding up the deal for Higuaín, the Argentine International arrived at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday afternoon to complete his loan deal, with reports suggesting he will be signing for the club until the end of the season, with the club having an option to extend that for another 12 months if certain terms are met.

And after weeks of speculation, Sarri has come out and announced that an announcement is very imminent, telling the Sky Sports website: “I know Higuain and his agent are negotiating with the club in this moment. I hope, and I think, we will finalise the deal in the next few hours.

“This season he had some troubles but I think that’s part of every player’s career, you have your down moments. We hope we can regenerate him quickly so he can pay us back with his goals.

“It’s very difficult in January to find one of the most important strikers in the world. So I think the club is working very well because it’s not easy to get a new striker.”

Is Higuaín the right man for us?

History proves that strikers coming here towards the end of their playing careers seem to fail, as they simply cannot adapt to the pace and quality of the Premier League. So hopefully that is not the case when Higuaín arrives as we really need him to score the goals that could help us get back into a Champions League spot come the end of the season.

We need a world class  striker to score the goals to help us win games, as Eden Hazard cannot do that himself, but is he the right signing?
