Striker star tells Chelsea ‘every player’ wants to play in Premier League

Lille star Jonathan David has admitted that the Premier League is a move he is interested in – amid Chelsea speculation

David has had an impressive start to the Ligue 1 season and has netted nine goals and three assists in 14 appearances this season.

His performances have led to speculation that both Chelsea and Newcastle are interested in getting some kind of transfer deal done in the January window – as the two both looked to add some more depth to the squad

We only have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as their main striker – and although Kai Havertz is a decent back-up – he is not the quality that David would bring to that Blues squad if signed.

But David has said when quizzed on links to Stamford Bridge and has refused to talk to much about his future: “I am aware of nothing. When I am at the World Cup I am just focused on trying to enjoy the World Cup and enjoying the moment.

“What happens after I do not know, we will have to see.

“The Premier League is the best league in the world and I think every player would want to play there some day.”

His performances for Lille this season and his performances at the World Cup just shows that the player has real ability – he could easily play for a side like ours

However – to move to Stamford Bridge may not be the best one for him to make as they do not play the kind of football that would get the very best out of the star.
