Here is a roundup of todays latest Chelsea news, gossip and transfer news.
Chelsea are reportedly “on the verge” of securing a deal for Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic.
With rumours still circling which suggest Eden Hazard is on his way out of the club at the end of the season, there has been some reports in the media which have suggested that we are prepared to replace the Belgian superstar with the services of Pulisic, who is regarded as one of the best talents in world football.
And we were boosted by reports which revealed the attacking midfielder could be a Premier League player very soon, after stating: ‘it’s “a league where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here.”
Now the Daily Mail website has claimed Pulisic has been refusing to engage in contract talks with Dortmund, which has prompted the Germans decision to sell the 20-year-old rather than lose him for nothing in 2020.
It is reported that we will push for the deal to be done in January, especially as it has been claimed they could be facing a transfer ban after an investigation into their signing of foreign Under-18 players.
And it is believed we are also ready to meet his wage demands at Dortmund, which are believed to be the in £100,000-a-week range, as well as pay the £88 million the Germans are after. (Read more here)
Willian has admitted he has been impressed by Richarlison’s start to the season, with Chelsea linked with a potential move.
Richarlison made the shock decision in the summer to sign for Everton in a deal worth £40 million after a very impressive season at Watford last year, despite the reported interest from Maurizio Sarri.
But with the January transfer window fast approaching and rumours beginning to circle once again after the incredible start Ricarlison has had this season, in which he has six in 10 Premier League games altogether, Willian can see why we are so interested in a deal.
He said on the Sky Sports website: : “Richarlison is doing very well with Everton. He is one of the greatest surprises of the Premier League at the beginning of the season.
“Scoring goals, being a key player for his club. And in his first call up with Seleção he scored twice and did a great job.
“He has a lot of quality, knows how to score goals and has a lot of potential to help the Seleção.” (Read more here)
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink said Maurizio Sarri will need to sign another striker to for Chelsea in the coming transfer windows.
Despite our incredible start to the new Premier League season, in which we have taken 28 points from the first 12 league fixtures to sit third in the Premier League, there is still media claims that we need a goals-scorer to come in and fire us to success.
Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have put in some decent performances this season, but they will not get us that 30-40 goals a season that we need to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League crown.
And former Chelsea hero Hasselbaink says we need to buy another striker to close the gap on defending champions City.
‘I think every club that is going to challenge for the Premier League needs three strikers,’ he told Sky Sports.
‘For me they [Chelsea] still have a gap to close on Man City, but they are improving and if they can keep on improving they can hopefully catch them. ‘[Sarri] has changed the way they play totally.
‘They now play more in the defensive third of the opposition. They have the ball 60 or 70 per cent of the time – that was totally different last year.
‘You see smiles on the players’ faces again and they’re playing attractive, attacking football.’
