Jose Mourinho is ‘killing’ Chelsea target Marcus Rashford and the England forward ‘must’ leave Manchester United to save his career, according to Garth Crooks.
Rashford burst onto the scene at Old Trafford a few seasons ago and immediately became a real fans favourite at the club, and is also regarded as one of the best young talents in world football.
But over the last 12 months there has been a change in confidence for Rashford, as the youngster does not look like the exciting and skilful winger that got United fans off his feet, and under the guidance of Mourinho, his development is heading backwards, not forwards.
That has led to some speculation that we could make a surprise move for Rashford in the coming windows, as Maurizio Sarri needs to replace Eden Hazard when he departs the club and is a huge fan of the talented Englishman
Now Crooks has claimed Mourinho is killing the talented young man, telling the BBC sport website: ‘This really can’t go on. Jose Mourinho is killing Marcus Rashford.
‘The lad pulled Manchester United from the jaws of defeat at Southampton and then Jose gave the one man who was desperate to win the game for him the hook? It made no sense.
The kid was on a roll and anyone who has played the game could see that. Mourinho may have won trophies but he destroys players in the process.
‘He is doing to Rashford what he did to Arjen Robben at Chelsea. Rashford must get out of United now before what little confidence he has left is destroyed.’ (READ MORE)
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been advised to sell N’Golo Kante if he is going to play him out of position.
Kante is arguably the best holding midfielder in world football and has helped us to a number of titles over the past few seasons with his world class ability to protect the back-line, and be everywhere on the pitch at the same time.
But since the arrival of midfielder Jorginho, Sarri has decided that Kante would be better suited in a more attacking, wider role at Chelsea, leaving the former Napoli star to be the man that protects the back-line.
His decisions have divided many in the media over the past few weeks, and despite the fact Kante recently signed a £300,000-a-week deal to stay at the club, Le Tissier has told Sarri to sell Kante as he is being wasted in his current position.
“I feel sorry for him, I really do,” Matt Le Tissier said on Sky Sports.
“He’s one of the best in the world in that position. Unfortunately, this coach doesn’t want to play in a way that suits him.
“He’s playing him a little bit out of position and you feel for players when they’re being asked to play in a unnatural position.
“They’re not going to be as good as playing in their natural position.I have a lot of sympathy for him and if this is the way the coach wants to play, he actually might as well sell N’Golo Kante.” (READ MORE)
ESPN FC pundit Paul Mariner says Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi would be a clear upgrade on the strikers Chelsea already have.
We have started the new season in terrific fashion and look like a side that could mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title, if they just add a new defender and goal-scorer to the starting line-up.
And one striker that has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Icardi, who has been scoring goals for fun over in Serie A and is is regarded as one of the best strikers on the planet right now.
And Mariner believes he would be a step un strikers Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, telling the ESPN website: “We’ve banded on about Morata, I think what Chelsea are doing is they are exploring their options.
“Can they get Icardi? Will they want to sell him? I wouldn’t want to sell him.
“So would it be a good move? I’m not quite sure. Sarri knows way better than I do whether he would fit into Chelsea and fit into the Premier League.
“He’s a goalscorer, he puts the ball in the back off the net for fun.So, I like Morata, I’ve been banging the drum for him.
“But I’m going to say that would be a good move for Chelsea.” (READ MORE)
Jermain Jenas has claimed Maurizio Sarri is laying the groundwork to phase N’Golo Kante out of his Chelsea starting line-up.
Kante has become the best holding midfielder in world football since his move to Stamford Bridge by doing a world class job of protecting that back-line, breaking up play and even getting involved in the attacking side of the game.
However, Sarri has attempted to reinvent Kante in recent weeks and stationed him further out wide while he looks to ply Jorginho in that holding role position, something many in the media have criticised, and Jenas believes Sarri is laying the ground work to phase the Frenchman out of the side.
‘The longer Maurizio Sarri is at Chelsea, something tells me that at some point he will try to phase out N’Golo Kante,’ he told the Daily Mail.
‘That sounds crazy. It is crazy. It makes no sense to get rid of the best central midfielder on the planet. But the fact is Sarri just does not see Kante in his system.
‘He is making Kante play in a different way to what made him the best in the world. Can you imagine Roy Keane or Patrick Vieira being told to change positions? Not in a million years.
‘Keane didn’t play on the right of a three, and nor did Vieira. They are the generals. What Sarri is saying to Kante is that you are not the general. Jorginho is my general. That is a bit of a slap in the face.
‘Kante could kick off but he is not going to do that. He is a top pro and wants to play for Chelsea.
‘That is the right thing to do. But it does mean you are probably going to get a few more average Kante performances. You are getting a diluted performance.’ (READ MORE)
