Jorginho to stay, Frenchman signs Chelsea deal, Asensio wanted in Hazard deal, £200m transfer message sent
Here is a roundup of the latest headlines from us guys.
The agent of Jorginho has revealed the midfielder will be staying at Chelsea, even if Maurizio Sarri gets the sack.
It has not been the best first season for the midfielder and he has been heavily criticised for many of his performances, with many believing that he should be dropped and replaced by the ‘world class’ holding midfielder N’Golo Kante, who has been played in a more attacking role this season.
[the_ad id=”164″]And that has led to speculation that he could leave the club alongside Sarri this summer, as there has been constant speculation in the media all suggesting that the Italian could get the sack even if he managed to win the Europa League at the end of the month.
The midfielder’s agent Joao Santos, though, has quashed any thought that Jorginho may leave if Sarri is sacked in the coming weeks.
“Could Jorginho leave with Sarri? He was quoted on the Daily Express.
He also suggested that other clubs wouldn’t be able to match the salary that he’s being paid at Stamford Bridge.
“In Italy they cannot take it to certain figures,” Santos added.
We have confirmed that striker Olivier Giroud has decided to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman moved to Stamford Bridge just over 12 months ago and made an immediate impact on the side, as well as a number of first team players. But with Gonzalo Higuaín Maurizio Sarri’s first choice to start ninety per cent of games, Giroud has found game time limited this season.
But now we have confirmed that the Frenchman has agreed to stay at the club, as the transfer ban does not allow us to sign any new players.
Director Marina Granovskaia praised Giroud’s contribution since moving to Stamford Bridge.
She said on the Chelsea website: “We are very pleased that Olivier will be a Chelsea player for another season. Since joining us 18 months ago, he has at times had to be patient and wait for opportunities, but has still been able to make a positive contribution for the team.”
“Whether it is his unselfish link-up play or his 10 Europa League goals this season, he has been a crucial member of the squad and we hope he will be able to pick up a second Chelsea winner’s medal in Baku later this month to accompany last season’s FA Cup win.”
[the_ad id=”164″]Giroud has admitted he is delighted to have signed a contract to stay at Chelsea this summer.
Giroud has scored 10 goals in this season’s Europa League to help us reach the final against his former team. He is the first player ever to hit double figures for goals in a single season of European football.
However, there has been a lot of transfer talk in the media over the past few months which have suggested that we may look to offload the striker in order to make space in the squad for a number of possible signings, but the club were keen to retain Giroud in an area of the pitch where they remain short of depth.
[the_ad id=”164″]On signing his contract extension, Giroud said on the Chelsea website: “I am very happy to sign a new contract. I really wanted to stay at least one more year – I have felt part of the team, the family, since the beginning and hopefully there will be more trophies to come.”
, We are eyeing up a potential summer deal to swipe Marcos Asensio away from Real Madrid as part of a deal for Eden Hazard.
Hazard has had one of the best seasons and has netted an impressive 26-goals in all competitions, but his performances have only further enhanced Madrid’s interest in completing a mega transfer deal.
But reports on the Daily Star have claimed that another name that could make a possible move to Stamford Bridge is that of Asensio, who is regarded as one of the finest talents in the game.
Asensio is not happy with the game time he has been receiving under boss Zinedine Zidane over the past few seasons and reports have suggested that he may look to leave the club if the right offer arrives for both him and Madrid.
PSG have announced that star man Kylian Mbappe will not be leaving this summer window.
With all the reports in the media which are suggesting that star man Eden Hazard is leaving the club to sign for Spanish giants Real Madrid, we are desperate to find an adequate replacement that could fill the goals that the Belgian Creates and scores.
And one name that has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, is that of Mbappe, who has hinted that he is already thinking about the next step in his career and the possibility of leaving PSG.
However, PSG have quickly responded to the links linking the Frenchman with a move away from the club and have admitted that he will not be going anywhere this summer.
PSG issued a statement on Twitter: “Strong links have united PSG and Kylian Mbappe for two years and that same story will continue next season.
“With a shared ambition to mark history in European football, after 50 years since PSG was founded, we have a chance to write a big page in history together and each major player will have to play his part, always working for the team.”
