Here is a daily morning roundup of the latest Chelsea news, gossip and transfer news from IcChelseanews.
Manchester United have entered the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic, as Chelsea seek to get a deal done.
The highly-rated American International is one of the most excitingly gifted players in Europe right now and has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as a possible long-term replacement for star man Eden Hazard, who could be leaving the club at the end of this season.
As we all know, and as the media keep speculating, Hazard is eyeing up a £200 million move to Real Madrid in the summer as he believes that staying here in the Premier league will not give him the opportunity to win the Champions League or pick up the title of the worlds best player, which has been held by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for the past decade.
And although there has been rumours that Maurizio Sarri is convinced Hazard will reject a move away and sign a massive contract to stay with the club, we have already begun looking for possible replacements for the Belgian winger, and one name that has been on the list for a while is that of Pulisic.
Pulisic is only 20-years of age and already one of the most creative players in the Bundesliga, helping Borussia Dortmund to top spot this season with a number of impressive performances, and the German giants are now ready to cash in and get the maximum amount of money.
But we will now have to fend off the interested of United boss Jose Mourinho, according to German website Bild, who claim the Red Devils are now ready to swoop in and nail down the 20-year old for the £50m he is currently going for.
With Alexis Sanchez not performing, Anthony Martial too inconsistent and Marcus Rashford cutting a frustrated figure, the special one is desperate to add a bit more creativity and quality to his wings. (READ MORE)
Tony Cascarino claims N’Golo Kante may look to leave Chelsea if he continues to be played out of position by manager Maurizio Sarri.
Kante is regarded as one of the best holding midfielders in world football, if not the best, but Sarri has made the strange decision to play the Frenchman in wider and a more attacking role to accommodate new summer singing Jorginho.
Jorginho has started the season in fine fashion for the club and has laid on a number of assists for the more attacking players, but he looked slow, off the pace and incapable of protecting the back-line for Sarri in the 3-1 spanking against Tottenham, and now that decision by Sarri is all over the headlines.
And now Cascarino believes the midfielder may look to leave Stamford Bridge if he continues to be overlooked for his favoured position, despite the fact he recently signed a massive £300,000-a-week deal.
He was quoted on the TalkSport website: “I don’t think Sarri’s comments about Kante being more technical were too much to be concerned about.
“I think the bigger issue with Kante is they have given him a new contract because they know so many clubs are sniffing around him, but he’s being played out of position.
“You feel he’s wasted.
“I think certainly PSG would be in for him as well as other clubs, and why wouldn’t they? He’s the best at his position in the world, without a doubt, for me.
“That’s why he signed a new deal, but I don’t believe it will be enough to keep him there if Kante plays in that position all season.
“I think by the end of the season he might have had enough, knowing he’s a far better player in the positions he is more accustomed to.” (READ MORE)
Chelsea transfer target Gonzalo Higuain insists that he is not thinking of leaving AC Milan.
The Argentine striker, currently on loan at the San Siro from Juventus, has been linked with a move away following reports that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the verge of a return to the Rossoneri.
Boss Maurizio Sarri is desperate to have a world class striker in the squad that could score around 30-40 goals a season and make them real title contenders, and has been linked with some of the games most exciting forwards.
However, amidst speculation that we are keen to bringing him to London, Higuain launched a passionate rebuttal ahead of Milan’s Europa League clash with Dudelange, admitting that he has no intentions of leaving the club.
“The coach said I never asked to leave the club, and this says it all about my intentions,” Higuain was quoted on the Calciomercato website.
“I only have AC Milan in my mind and I don’t consider myself the star of this team.” (READ MORE)
Cesc Fabregas expects to stay at Chelsea for the rest of the season, despite interest in a January move to Seria A.
The 32-year-old former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder’s current contract expires at the end of the season and he is permitted to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from January 1, which would allow him to move in the summer.
Fabregas made the shock move here way back in 2014 after his time at Barcelona failed to hit the heights that many expected, and although he has been a loyal servant to the club, Maurizio Sarri is planning for the future and is lining up a number of alternatives to the Spanish star.
The likes of Milan and Juventus have been just two clubs linked with a possible swoop in January, but he has admitted that it is very likely that he will stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season,
He told the Sky Sports website: “Obviously in January I can sign (a pre-contract agreement) with whoever I want and probably this will attract many clubs. But so far, from what I can say right now, yes I will stay here until the end of the season.
“I play at Stamford Bridge, I’m happy. That’s the most important thing. But of course, every player wants to play more.” (READ MORE)
