Speculation the media over the past few weeks have all suggested boss Maurisio Sarri will be given funds to try and complete deals for both Skriniar and Icardi in the January transfer window, as he looks to improve key areas of the pitch for us.
With Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud failing to lead the line and score the goals Sarri needs, he has been eyeing up a £90 million deal for Icardi, who netted an impressive 29-goals for Milan last season and already has nine to his name in Serie A this season.
And with David Luiz showing just how poor he is against Tottenham at the weekend, Skriniar is another name that has been top of the shopping list of the Italian as reports suggest he needs a world class defender to be serious contenders for the Premier League title this season.
Now, according to Calciomercato, Milan have decided to stop all contract talks with both Skriniar and Icardi as they believe they are spending far too much money on wages, as they look to try and cut those costs.
The report goes on to say Inter spends 4.1 million euros a year on salaries, a figure that has gone up since the acquisitions of Radja Nainggolan, Kwadwo Asamoah and Stefan de Vrij.(READ MORE)

United are in desperate need of adding some top-class talent to the squad as they simply cannot get going with the current squad under Mourinho, and Perisic is seen as a better alternative to Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial.
And despite us having Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro in the squad, there is some speculation both Hazard and Willian could leave for Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively, while Pedro is now coming towards the back-end of his playing career, meaning Sarri needs to add more quality to the squad.
And we have been given a huge boost as Perisic announced ahead of the Tottenham fixture that he has a dream to play in the Premier League, telling the Sky Sports website: “I have always said that [playing in the Premier League] is my dream.
“In football everything is possible, we will see in the future. Now, I’m focusing on Inter.”
It is believed that Inter do not want to let the winger leave the club in the coming transfer windows, but would be open to doing a deal if we matched the £45 million asking price that they have currently placed on his head.(READ MORE)
The Polish forward, who has scored 10 goals in Serie A this season, is said to have attracted interest from Maurizio Sarri over the last few months, as the Italian seeks to bolster his unimpressive front-line.
Despite having some of the most creative and imaginative midfielders in Europe right now, both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have both struggled to score the goals and after lads very disappointing 3-1 loss to Tottenham last weekend, Sarri has now stepped up his chase to land a striker.
And if reports on Tuttosport are correct, Genoa will only ask £44 million for the 23-year old hitman.

Former Barcelona and Real Madrid player Bernd Schuster believes Barcelona is too big a club for Chelsea transfer target Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman has struggled to make an impact since joining Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in August 2017 and has been criticised for a number of his performances, and also for turning up late for training on a number of occasions.
That has led to a lot of speculation that we could hand boss Maurizio Sarri enough funds in the January transfer window to tempt Barcelona into letting Dembele leave, with reports the Italian is seeking a long-term replacement for Eden Hazard.
And now they will have been boosted by the club made by Schuster, who believes Dembele is too far out of his depth at Barcelona.
“There are some players who are good enough for Barcelona and some who are not, and you find that out from the start – it doesn’t take three seasons,” said Schuster on the BILD website.
“Barcelona is too big for Dembele. At Dortmund he had some great matches, but not that many.”(READ MORE)
Real Madrid would be willing to sell Chelsea target Isco if an offer of at least 70 million euros was made.
Isco is highly regarded across Europe as one of the most talented midfielders in world football and was seemingly getting his foot in the door under former boss Zinedine Zidane last season, playing an integral part in the clubs Champions League success.
However, he has reportedly become very frustrated at the lack of game time he has been receiving this season and is seemingly destined for a move away from the Bernabeu, with Maurizio Sarri a huge fan, who is ready to acquire his services as a possible replacement for Willian.
Willian is reportedly eyeing up a possible move away from Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, with Real’s rivals Barcelona reportedly ready to splash £70 million t try and get a transfer deal wrapped up.
And according to Italian website Calciomercato, Madrid are willing to do a transfer deal for Isco if the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus all pay the 70 million euros that Real are looking for, believing the Spaniard still has value in the transfer market.
Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda recently claimed Chelsea have made an offer to sign up unhappy Real Madrid midfielder Isco this coming January transfer window.
He told OK Diario: “They consider that Isco is not involved in the group, that he is doing his thing, that he is having problems with his weight… so he is thinking of going to the Premier League.
“He has an offer from Chelsea and another from Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
“I think that in a style of play like City’s he could do very well.
“Cristiano Ronaldo did not like to play with him because he said he kept the game a lot,” (READ MORE)
