Fans told departing star ‘will not be a massive Chelsea loss’

Ex-Chelsea centre-back Jason Cundy believes Andreas Christensen would be no ‘massive loss’ if he exits on a free deal this summer as expected.

American Bellionaire Ted Boehly has had his offer accepted by the board at Chelsea and is just waiting for the government to sanctions the £4.25 billion takeover of the Premier League giants

But that has not stopped the speculation about the type of players that will be coming to the club in the summer transfer window, and leaving the club either on free deals or being sold as the club may look to revamp.

With the Danish defender running his contract down towards free agency, it has been clamed in recent weeks that Barcelona have agreed a deal – worth around £200,000-a-weeo – to take him to la Liga during the summer window

And it has even been claimed in the media that the defender has told his team to find him a nice new pad in Spain – and amid all the rumours Cundy has sent a clear message to the faithful

Cundy told talkSPORT: “He never really fulfilled his [potential]… ”

The former Spurs and Ipswich defender, added, though: “He had a great period, and he’s been brilliant for us when he’s comes in.

“He came on in the Champions League final when Thiago Silva got taken off.”

Christensen is a very gifted defender that could become a top-class one, so the news that he is all set to depart the club at the end of the season will come as a massive blow to the squad, but at the end of the day, he is still a player that can be replaced
