Chelsea target Philippe Coutinho needs saving from Barcelona, according to former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.

There has been some big speculation in the media over the past few days which have suggested that we are closing in on a £77 million deal for the former Liverpool man, as he is not wanted back at Barcelona in the summer and will be sold on.

We have reported opened talks with the Brazilian, who has struggled to reach the kind of form which made him one of the best players in the game during his time with Liverpool, meaning that he will be on the transfer market during the summer window

We reportedly lead the chase, especially as there is talk that Brazilian Willian could be leaving the club, and Speaking in an Instagram Q and A on Monday, Ferdinand has come out and stated that he believes Coutinho needs saving from his Barcelona nightmare.

He said: “At Liverpool he was an amazing player, but since he left he hasn’t really done it.

“He struggled at Barcelona, struggled to fit in there and then he hasn’t done amazingly well at Bayern.

“I think he is a great player, a huge talent, I think he needs saving.

“Coming into the Premier League to the right team would be a saviour for him, he needs that.”

SIMPLY PUT! WE NEED TO MAKE A MOVE AND GET HIM SIGNED UP!
