Balague opens up and claims striker will arrive at Chelsea ahead of Coutinho?

Chelsea will not go after Philippe Coutinho in the next transfer window because they are prioritising signing a striker instead, says Spanish football expert Guillem Balague.

The football world has been stopped over the past few months because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, but that has not stopped constant speculation in the media about possible signings that could be arriving to the club, and players that could be leaving.

Cesare Azpilicueta is still in talks about a new contract at the club, while there is speculation the Willian and Pedro are all set to depart the club at the end of the season as they have not been handed new contracts at Stamford Bridge.

But reports in the media over the past few days have claimed that Barcelona have offered Philippe Coutinho to us ahead of the summer window, as the Spanish giants are keen to get rid of the Brazilian, who has not made the impact that many had hoped when he signed from Liverpool.

However, Balague says we should be ruled out of the running because they will focus on signing a striker instead to help lessen the load on Tammy Abraham.

“The story of Coutinho is quite simple,” Balague said on his YOUTUBE CHANNEL:. “Bayern Munich are not going to renew the contract that they’ve got.

“Does Lampard like Coutinho? Of course he does. Does he need Coutinho? He doesn’t need Coutinho. So Chelsea are not going to go for Coutinho, they need a striker, that’s their priority.”
