Chelsea have made contact in bid to hijack Arsenal’s possible Joelson deal

Chelsea have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Joelson Fernandes, and have made contact with the players agent.

With Mikel Arteta seeking to improve a number of key areas of the pitch this summer transfer window, there has been alot of speculation in the media that he wants to spend some serious money to acquire the services of a new defender.

Portuguese reports claim that Arsenal are leading the way to sign the winger, 17, as they prepare to activate his £41million release clause, as Fernandes has compared to Cristiano Ronaldo, having broken the icon’s record for being Sporting’s youngest ever player.

However, it seems like they may now have to fend off us this transfer window as reports in Portugal (Via the Daily Express) claim we have contacted Joelson’s advisor Kia Joorabchian to discuss potential deals.

Frank Lampard has already been spending some serious money this transfer window and is still looking to sign up players that will help this  side push on and compete for a Premier League title charge next season.

Look, Joelson is a very talented young player and it is very easy to see just why we are interested in trying to get a deal done, but he is one for the future that does not need to be signed during the COVID 19 issues, and this is a move that can wait.

If Lampard has £200 million to spend on new players, then great, get him. But he doesnt and will need to spend it wisely.
