Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews that we think you may have missed featuring Alejandro Garnacho, Renato Veiga and Cesare Casedai..

Blues boss Enzo Maresca has reportedly asked the CHELSEA board to sign unhappy Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho by the close of the January transfer window on Monday 3rd February.

The club were expected to add a bit more quality to that attack this transfer window, with many believing that a new striker was something that Enzo Maresca wanted to add to his side by February the 3rd.

However – it seems that a winger is on the agenda of the Blues, if you believe reports, as Garnacho is a player that we have shown an interest in signing over recent days after learning that he could be sold by Manchester United.

And according to GiveMeSport, Enzo Maresca still wants Chelsea to bid for the 20-year-old and their rivals have been waiting for them to do so.

The news comes after Pundit Kris pundit Boyd claimed Man United will allow Garnacho to leave the club in order to help raise some fund, he said: “I think for Garnacho it’s an opportunity. You go back to the start when Ruben Amorim came in – any manager will tell you – there is a clean slate there when new managers arrive at football clubs, but if you don’t tow the party line and put in the performances to keep yourself involved in the first team you’re going to find yourself out of it.

“That’s exactly what’s happened with Marcus Rashford, yes, there are probably things bubbling away with that one, but Garnacho, you kind of get the feeling that if he has to go it might be to generate fuds for Manchester United to go and spend elsewhere.

“I don’t think Ruben Amorim wants to lose Garnacho but it might be that he has to in order to strengthen his squad.”

VEIGA MOVES ON

CHELSEA have officially confirmed that defender Renato Veiga has joined Italian giants Juventus on loan until the end of the season.

Veiga joined the club in a £12 million deal from Swiss side Basel last summer but he has been unable to secure a regular role in the team under Enzo Maresca,  the 21-year-old barely played any minutes in the Premier League and the majority of his playing time has been in the Conference League.

The Blues posted on the clubs website: ‘Chelsea defender Renato Veiga will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Serie A side Juventus.

‘Veiga joined the Blues in July from FC Basel and made 18 appearances in all competitions this season.

‘We look forward to supporting his development throughout the loan.

‘Good luck, Renato!’

Veiga has been decent for the the club this season and many fans believed that he had the potential to take his game to that next level and become a top top player for the club, so the news that he has now left on loan will be a massive shock for many fans to take.

However – he wants to play on a regular basis and not just in cup competitions, so it is easy to see why he wanted to leave the club this January in search for game time, and to be honest, Juventus is a great move for the lad.

CASEDAI MOVE CONFIRMED

CHELSEA have announced that midfielder Cesare Casedai has now left the club and signed for Seria A side Torino.

The 22-year-old midfielder has signed a 4.5-year contract with the Serie A side, who are in turn paying €15m to Chelsea for the transfer. That’s the total “package” price, matching the initial fee the Blues paid to Inter Milan in 2022.

CHELSEA do have a 25 per cent sell-on, which makes this deal a bit more attractive financially.

Chelsea posted: ‘Signed from Inter Milan in August 2022, Casadei initially featured for our Under-21s side before spending the second half of the campaign in the Championship with Reading.

‘He was then included in the Italy squad for the 2023 FIFA Under-20 World Cup and claimed both the Golden Ball and the Golden Boot as his country finished as runners-up to Uruguay.

‘A loan move to Leicester City followed, where Casadei gained further senior experience, before he returned to Chelsea in January 2024.

We would like to thank Cesare for his efforts throughout his time with the club and wish him well as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.’

Look, the lad needed to leave as he was not getting the game time that he needed, so even though he is a talented lad, we are glad that he has got a move that could benefit his career well down the line.

Good luck to the lad.
