Experienced goalkeeper Becky Spencer will remain with CHELSEA after making her loan move permanent, the Blues have officially revealed on the club website this week.

The Blues posted on the club website: ‘The goalkeeper spent the last three months of the 2024/25 season with the Blues in a temporary switch from Tottenham Hotspur, and has now completed a permanent transfer by signing a one-year contract with Chelsea, with an option to extend until 2027.

‘Spencer, who had previously represented us between 2016 and 2018, returned to west London last season to provide further cover for Hannah Hampton, following an injury to Fenke Liefting and Zecira Musovic’s pregnancy.

And the Blues have decided to make the switch permanent ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Spencer said: ‘I’m over the moon to be given the opportunity to stay at this magical club, it somewhere which has always felt like home for me.

‘We have amazing fans and I look forward to coming back into this environment on a permanent basis and working alongside the great goalkeeper’s union we have.’

‘We are really pleased to welcome Becky to the goalkeeping union permanently,’ said Paul Green, Chelsea’s head of women’s football.

‘Her experience will provide cover and enable the younger goalkeepers to pursue valuable development opportunities.

‘‘She settled in well during her loan and is a great character to have in the group. We all look forward to working with her again next season.’

CHELSEA READY SELL NKUNKU

CHELSEA are prepared to make a loss on Christopher Nkunku as Manchester United consider a move for the forward this summer, according to reports.

The club ended a very good season with a European trophy and look like a side that is more than capable of challenging for that Premier League title next season, especially with all the signings that have already made the move to Stamford Bridge already this transfer window.

However – the Blues are also looking to offload a number of players that they feel are no longer needed at the club, that will not bring anything to the side next season and that can free up some more space in the side, and Nkunku is one of those players.

It has constantly been claimed that the Frenchman is not happy at the club, he has not been happy about the game time that he has been receiving over the past 12 months and he is looking for a way out, which has also led to constant rumours that United have been keen on a transfer deal

And according to the Mirror, the Red Devils will have to pay just £35m to convince the board to part ways with the 27-year-old.

United may have to first sanction departures to raise funds but have several players who are looking for a move away from Old Trafford this summer, but are reportedly ready to meet the asking price of Nkunku.

Nkunku is quality and i will be sad to see him go, he has so much quality.

DORTMUND WANTS DEAL WITH CHELSEA

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director says the club want to sign a CHELSEA star this summer following the transfer of Jamie Gittens to the Blues in a deal that is worth around the £50 million mark.

Carney Chukwuemeka  was loaned out to Dortmund in January and has made 17 appearances for the German giants, albeit only two starts, scoring one goal. but he still has three years left on his contract and it is said Chelsea will not sell for below his £40m release clause.

Chukwuemeka’s loan came to an end over the weekend after Dortmund were knocked out of the Club World Cup by Real Madrid, who will now play PSG for a place in the final against either CHELSEA or Fluminense.

But despite his limited minutes, Dortmund like what they see in the young Englishman and the club’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl has now stated their intention to re-sign him: ‘Carney’s loan ends today.

‘That was what we agreed with CHELSEA. Now, let’s see. We will definitely have some more discussions in the next few days about his situation.

‘I think it was a good move from Carney to join us. Now let’s see how we manage everything.

‘It won’t be easy, but for sure we will try to keep him because he’s a very good player. This topic is something for the future, and right now I don’t know what will happen.’

IcChelseanews Says…

The club should just let the lad leave if Dortmund really want a deal to happen.
