Reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed that Chelsea are very confident that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will agree a new contract at the club

The January transfer window is now only a few months away and there has been all sorts of speculation about which players that the club will manage to sign in order to get back in the race for that Premier League Title

Graham Potter has a very good squad – but injuries have been picked up by a number of players – and he knows that he will need to add some more meat to the side in the winter

But players like Loftus-Cheek have been impressing under Potter this season – and the club do not want to lose him – meaning that the decision has been made to offer him a new contract that will be a boost on his current deal

And if you believe the words of Iomie Stanley – he will sign that contract offer from the club – he told IcFootballnews: ‘this is surely a no-brainer for Loftus-Cheek.

‘There has never been any doubting the quality and ability of Loftus-Cheek – he really is a player that could have been one of the best in the world if he was given more opportunities as a younger player

‘But he has started 9 of the 11 Premier League games that Graham Potter has managed and is starting to show just why the former Brighton boss is playing him so much

‘He fully deserves a new contract at Chelsea and i am pretty sure that it will be a contract that he would be very eager to sign.

‘And the fact he is once again happy will give Chelsea real confidence that they can keep him at the club for the long haul.’
