Lampard opens up and reacts to reports that Rice could be signing with Chelsea this transfer window
Frank Lampard has reacted to the reports which have claimed that Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Declan Rice.
We have been very active in the transfer window this summer and The signing of Rennes goalkeeper Mendy for £20million has taken the clubs summer spending past £220m, as they seek to regain that Premier League and Champions League title.
Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr have all joined the club in a hectic transfer window that keeps giving fans more excitement, and it is expected that Rice could be the final signing of the summer.
Rice has become one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League and the latest reports have suggested that he has already agreed personal terms with the us, with the two clubs in contact about a transfer fee.
But while Lampard refused to speak on England star Rice he also would not declare his recruitment drive to be at an end, Asked if Mendy will be the last arrival in this transfer window, Lampard on the SUN website: “I honestly don’t have answers to the speculation of ins or outs going forward.”
When quizzed on West Ham midfielder Rice, Lampard continued: “Again they are rumours, I can’t talk about these things, but when players are ours it’s not my position to speculate on what may be, and it’s the same on the other side from players from other clubs. And I’ll continue that way.”
Look, it has been a very exciting summer for fans to see and if they manage to secure a transfer deal for the brilliant Rice, then it will add a bit more quality to the side.
