Attacker ‘will make switch to Chelsea in January’

Chelsea are close to agreeing a £13 million deal to sign Vasco de Gama midfielder Andrey Santos, according to reports.

The club spent some serious money in the summer transfer window and signed players that should be helping the club challenge for the Premier League and Champions League title.

But Potter knows that he needs to add some fresh players to that squad in order to improve areas of the side – and it seems that Santos is a player that the club are very much interested in signing.

According to Le10 Sport, Paris Saint-Germain have been monitoring Santos’ performances for several months, while Barcelona have also kept tabs on the midfielder.

However, the report claims the club have moved quickly to wrap up a deal to sign Santos and providing the midfielder does not have a late change of heart, he will make the switch to Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window.

The lad is attracting all the right attention with his performances for De Gama and it has been easy to see why all the big clubs are keen.

So, if the reports are true and we are closing in on the signing of the lad – many will be hoping that he does not get lost into the system.

The club have a habit of buying the best talent in the game and then forgetting that is what they have done – so Santos is making a massive decision to join the Blues that is for sure.
