Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech has opened up and revealed a major reason for joining Chelsea this summer window.

Ziyech is regarded as one of the most creative and exciting players in Europe right now and has been one of the main reasons why Ajax have been so successful both domestically and in Europe over the past few seasons.

He will surely be the immediate replacement for the departing Willian, who is leaving the club after failing to agree a new contract at the club, and will also add some superstar quality to this midfield.

There was alot of interest in his services during the January transfer window, but it was us who completed a transfer deal and now Ziyech has cited Frank Lampard’s philosophy as crucial behind his decision.

“Chelsea is a beautiful club, a huge club,” Ziyech NOS: “The football that they play attracts me, and the manager wants to play attacking football.

“And just like here [Ajax], they like to use the talent that walks around in their club now.”

There is not much that we can say about the quality of Ziyech and what he will bring to the club. But fans are excited, the media is excited about his arrival and everyone associated with Chelsea are excited to see what he will bring.

He is a world class signing and we cannot wait to officially see him in that shirt, playing at the Bridge and hopefully helping us get back into winning trophies.

And hopefully a few more players also make the move to London, Lampard needs to bolster a few other areas of the pitch.
