Chelsea board welcome CL winner – Chelsea make £40M transfer decision – Blues told sign £100M man

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed today –
The Chelsea board are delighted that Sonia Bompastor has been announced as boss of the womens team.
Hayes has joined the United States women’s national team after making one of the big decisions to leave and Bompastor is the boss that the board were quick to appoint.
She has signed a four-year contract at the club , arriving from Lyon where she won seven major honours during her three years in charge and is very excited to test herself in the WSL with the best team.
Paul Green, general manager took to the club website to welcome their new coach – he said: ‘The sporting directors and I conducted a thorough and considered recruitment process to identify Emma’s successor. Sonia’s vision, coaching philosophy and winning mentality made her the outstanding candidate.
‘She is a world-class coach with a proven track record of success on the biggest stages that will instantly command respect from the dressing room.’
Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, CHELSEA’s co-sporting directors, added: ‘Sonia is the ideal candidate to build on Emma’s legacy and take the team forward.
‘She brings a wealth of experience from managing at the highest levels and winning trophies as a player and a coach. Her ethos and values align with Chelsea Football Club. We are all looking forward to having her on board.’
IVAN TONEY DECISION MADE –
CHELSEA have made the decision that Ivan Toney is no longer one of the clubs top transfer targets for the summer.
We spent some serious money in the Summer transfer window and acquired players that have really made an impact on the side – and they will be looking to improve over the summer window
The club do really have a striker that has the ability to score 20, 30 or even 40 goals a season and there is alot of speculation that the Blues are keen to add another striker to the side in the summer window.
And that has led to some reports in the media that we will be interested in a £50 million move to try and sign Ivan Toney from Brentford – who is regarded as one of the best strikers in the Premier League.
However – amid all the speculation and rumours – Simon Phillips has claimed via his Substack on Wednesday that Brentford striker Ivan Toney does remain a transfer target for the club.
He’s described it as ‘tentative interest’ from the board in the 28-year-old forward, and Phillips shares that Toney has ‘fallen down the list’ when it comes to the clubs shortlist of potential striker targets

Look, at the end of the day – Toney would be a brilliant signing for the club if we were able to get him for the right price – it really is that simple
CHELSEA TOLD TO SIGN RODRYGO –
Emmanuel Petit has encouraged CHELSEA to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid this summer window.
The club are still working on completing a deal for their next boss – which is expected to be Enzo Maresca – but that is not stopping the speculation about players that could get signed this transfer window.
It is no secret that we really struggled in front of goal this season and only Cole Palmer has shone for the club – as Christopher Nkunku has struggled with injury and Nicolas Jackson is still getting used to the Premier League.
Many names have been linked wit a move to Stamford Bridge – but if you believe the words of Emmanuel Petit – the club should delve into that transfer kitty to try and acquire the services of Rodrygo.
‘I think CHELSEA should sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid to help Nicolas Jackson next season,’ Petit said
‘With Mbappe arriving next season, one of Real’s big stars are going to be out of the XI, so I think this one makes sense for both parties.
‘Real Madrid could get a big fee and he will also be great for Jackson, although he is still young.’
