CHELSEA have been sent a clear message about trying to sign Karim Benzema this January transfer window.

There has been alot of transfer speculation regarding the club over the past few months, as many believe that a new striker will make the move too Stamford Bridge at some point this transfer window.

Some big names have been linked with a move to London – but so has the name of Karim Benzema – who decided to ditch European football just six months ago and make the move to Saudi Arabian football for the money.

However – amid all the speculation and the rumours – former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has warned the club about trying to get a deal done for the Frenchman.

Speaking to Compare.bet, Emmanuel Petit said: “What’s the price for Benzema? Do you have any idea how much Benzema will be earning in Saudi? I don’t think any English club will be able to offer him the same amount of money.

“It’s Benzema’s choice if he comes back but after winning everything with Real Madrid and being 34-years-old, I don’t think he will want to come to the Premier League, it’s so physical, it’s so mentally hard, it’s not La Liga.

“With all the respect for him, he played for probably the biggest club in the world with great success, but it’s not the Premier League. I’m not confident Arsenal should go to Benzema, they should go for someone else.”

We totally agree with Petit and the club should stay away from trying to sign Benzema this transfer window as he is a man that is done at the very highest level of the game.
