£35 million rated Chelsea target Benatia eyeing up January move away from Juventus
Chelsea target Mehdi Benatia is unhappy with his game time in the first part of the season, amid speculation he could leave Juventus.
Despite our incredible start to the new season and the fact that we are now one of the favourites to claim the Premier League title, there has been some speculation which suggests Maurizio Sarri is still desperate to add a new centre-back to his defence with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Alessio Romagnoli and Daniele Rugani all linked with a possible move.
But with Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan all playing hard-ball over a possible deal for the trio, rumours have now linked us with a move for Juventus ace Benatia, who is now unhappy with the lack of minutes he has been receiving under boss Max Allegri.
And amid more speculation we are ready to reignite our interest this coming January transfer window, Benatia has admitted he will consider his future if his game time doesn’t improve under Max Allegri.
He was quoted on the CalcioMercato website: “I struggle to play with no consistency. I was doing well last season because I was playing on a regular basis. Now it’s not the same. This is my job and I always need to work hard to be ready to play but it’s a situation I don’t like.”
“I am 31 and I want to play as much as I can. Let’s see what happens in January, how many games I will play. Let’s see if Juve and Allegri need me. I am here to give my best and that’s what I will do until I’m here. If the mister will need me in the Champions League I will be ready.”[the_ad id=”238″]
Is Stamford Bridge the right move for the aging 31-year old?
David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger have made an impressive start to the new season and deserve their places in the side, but they are not leaders and adding an experienced, top-level defender like Benatia would be a smart decision from Sarri, especially for the price he is going for.
But Sarri will also need to add a more long-term signing to the squad, and we are hoping that he is able to wrap up a deal for either Koulibaly, Rugani or Romagnoli.
