Chelsea fans told possible £60 million signing Van De Beek like boss lampard ahead of possible move

Jasper Gronkjaer has compared Donny Van De Beek to Frank Lampard and urged him to make a move to Chelsea.

Beek made a massive impact in Europe last season when he helped Ajax regain the League title for a good few years, and also helped the Dutch giants reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, impressing everyone with their attacking football.

That led to speculation in the media suggesting that Beek would be the latest name to leave the club when the next transfer window opens up, with reports claiming that Madrid had already swooped in and agreed a fee with Ajax about a deal for Beek, which meant that we may miss out on another target.

However, no deal has been concluded yet and but we were boosted by the players agent after he came out and revealed that there is still an opportunity for us to make a move

We are looking for immediate replacements for the departing Pedro and Willian,  and after sealing a deal for Hakim Ziyech there have been rumours that Lampards men may look to try and get another transfer bargain done.

And Gronkjaer, who left Ajax to join Chelsea back in 2000 – has urged Van de Beek to consider a switch to Stamford Bridge if he does make a move this summer.

The former Denmark international believes Tottenham would also be a good fit for Van de Beek.

‘I wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Real Madrid or Barcelona but I would rather see him at a club just below that,’ Gronkjaer told Goal.

‘For his style of play alone, clubs like Tottenham or Chelsea would be a better fit.

‘They are still top clubs and he is more like Frank Lampard, that kind of player.’

Gronkjaer added:

‘He is a big guy, box-to-box and takes good long shots. ‘But he is not as technically gifted as other players that have come from Ajax.

‘He is a player you can always get a certain level from.’
