Chelsea target Alessandro Bastoni has made a decision on his future this summer amid speculation that the Blues are keen on a transfer deal
The fact that a number of players are already gone – with a few more expected to leave the club should the right offer come in – and Tuchel will need to sign some top-class players over the next few months
And that has again led to many reports in the media which has suggested that the club are lining up a move for a number of possible signings – and Batoni is a player that has come onto the shopping list of Tuchel
The club want him to help plug the gap left by Real Madrid newboy Antonio Rudiger and they will have been heartened by Inter chief executive Giuseppe Marotta indicating this week they are ready to sell a defender to help balance their books.
He told Radio Rai: “It’s certainly easier to replace a centre-back than a striker.
“We will probably be forced to sell someone in that position.”
However – those hopes appear to have been dashed with an update from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano – who has claimed that Bastoni has decided that he does not want a move to Chelsea and would rather stay with Inter
He quoted Bastoni’s agent Tullio Tinti in a tweet.
It said: “Bastoni will stay at Inter next season as we are used to respecting contracts.”
Now that Chelsea will start getting their transfer business done – fans will finally start seeing players make the move to the club
We are not shocked to see that Bastoni does not want to leave Inter – he does not need too – but there are a few options out there that would improve this side
