Eden Hazard has claimed Chelsea team-mate Ross Barkley can become one of the best players in world football.
Hazard has started the new Premier League season in terrific form and already has eight goals to his name, and while his performances have been taking all the headlines for the Blues, there are a few other players that are making quite an impact under Maurizio Sarri.
But Barkley has also been putting in some impressive performances for us and is starting to show the kind of potential that many believed he had as a teenager.
And Hazard has now claimed the Englishman can become one of the worlds very best players, if he is given the opportunity to develop here at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard was quoted on the Metro: ‘I think Ross, if you give him the freedom to play and the confidence on the pitch, then he can be one of the best in the world in midfield.
‘He is strong, powerful, can dribble; he is clever, can shoot and score. He has everything to be the best. I think he is a fantastic midfielder and if he has the players around him to help him play, then he can be one of the best.’
Will Barkley develop into a world class player working under Sarri?
It seems to be thriving here at the club and Sarri seems to be the perfect coach to help and develop the young man, so if he gets regular game time and his confidence improves, then he will become a world class midfielder.
He is still young enough to really take the Premier League by storm and I would love for him to become a key member of the squad over the next few seasons, especially with reports Hazard could be leaving at the end of the season.
