Cagliari will not stand in the way of Chelsea target Nicolo Barella leaving the club when the January transfer window opens up.

With boss Maurizio Sarri looking to continue building on his side in the coming transfer windows, there have been a number of players linked with a possible move to Stamford Bridge and Barella has been a name that has been mentioned.

Barella has a growing reputation on Serie A after a number of impressive performances for the Italian side and that has alerted the likes of Juventus, Arsenal and Liverpool to a potential January battle.

Now we have also been given a huge boost in a chase for the midfielder, as the Italian clubs owner Tommaso Giulini has said they will not stand in the way of big clubs come calling in the January transfer window looking to try and complete a deal.

He was quoted on the Calciomercato website: “Nicolo finally has a coach (Rolando Maran), who can give him a lot. If he stayed then I’d be the happiest man in the world, but it’s equally clear that the lad could have the ambition of playing in the Champions League.”

Here is what we think on a potential Chelsea deal for Barella.

Barella is showing great potentiala and could be a real star of the future, But we need players that will come in and make an immediete impact on the side now, as Sarri needs big named players to keep the likes of Eden Hazard at the club, and also push on to challenge for the Premier League title.

But if Sarri is looking to bring in strength in depth, then Barella would be a good acquisition for the right price as we have a long season and injuries will be picked up from time to time.
