Chelsea are ready to get winter deal done for £30 million midfielder

CHELSEA are open to the idea of letting midfielder Kieran Drewsbury-Hall leave the club, with the likes of Aston Villa reportedly interested in a potential deal.

After the arrival of Enzo Maresca at the beginning of the summer window – it was claimed that the Italian was very keen to bring Drewsbury-Hall to Stamford Bridge after a very impressive season at Leicester last year.

However, the move to London has not worked out for the player, He has clocked up just 43 minutes of Premier League action over three appearances this season, with only one of those – a six-minute stint at West Ham – coming since August.

While he has been given more opportunities in the Europa Conference League and the EFL Cup – even scoring in a 4-2 victory over Gent – he has frequently been left out of the Premier League squad in recent weeks.

Despite only recently joining the club , the future of the 26 year old £30m signing is already under scrutiny. Reports in Spain suggest Villa may propose a loan deal for Dewsbury-Hall once the January transfer window opens, with an option to buy him outright next summer if all goes well.

The story says Chelsea would aim to recover the £30m they spent on Dewsbury-Hall, who currently ranks behind Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez in Maresca’s midfield hierarchy.

With all the quality that the Blues had in their squad, it was always going to be difficult for Kieran to get a chance.
