Chelsea announcement made confirming big lad has made January move
CHELSEA goalkeeper Max Merrick has completed a loan move to National League South side Hampton & Richmond, the Blues have officially announced on the club website.
The club posted: ‘An England youth international, Merrick has featured regularly for our Under-21s this season across all competitions and was also included in the first-team squad for our Conference League fixtures against Noah and Astana.’The 19-year-old will now continue his development in senior football with the Beavers.
‘Good luck, Max!’

Merrick would have been hoping by now that he could be working his way into that first team rotation, that he would be in line to play come cup competitions for the club, but that is not the case.
He is a very good talent that could make a big impact on the game in the coming seasons, so this loan move is very good for Merrick as he will get some game time for the National side.
It may not be that dream move that he desires, but this will surely be one of a few loan spells that he will make during his stay at the club and will continue to be sent out on loan by the club.
We have no idea if Merrick will ever be good enough to play for the club on a regular basis, but now he is in that loan system, he could get lost like so many talents in previous seasons.
But good luck to the lad anyways.
