Chelsea announcement coming as Portuguese star agrees January move

CHELSEA defender Renato Veiga has agreed to join Italian giants Juventus, according to the latest reports in the media over the past few days.
Veiga joined the club in a £12 million deal from Swiss side Basel last summer but he has been unable to secure a regular role in the team under Enzo Maresca, the 21-year-old has played just 177 minutes in the Premier League and the majority of his playing time has been in the Conference League.
And now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the defender will join Serie A side Juventus on loan for the rest of the campaign. The deal is said to cost Juve €5m (£4.2m) and does not include an option to make the loan permenant in the summer.

Veiga has been decent for the club this season and many fans believed that he had the potential to take his game to that next level and become a top top player for the club, so the news that he could be leaving will be a massive shock for many fans to take.
However – he wants to play on a regular basis and not just in cup competitions, so it is easy to see why he would want to leave us this January in search for game time, and to be honest, Juventus is a great move for the lad.
