Announcement and statement announced as Duo officially sign up with Chelsea

Chelsea, Willian

Willian and Pedro have reportedly agreed short-term contract extensions with Chelsea.

Both Pedro and Willian have been talked about on a weekly basis, with the Brazilian star keen to stay, but were not prepared to offer him the kind of deal that he wants, while Pedro has has his time at the top and is now ready for something a little easier.

The pair’s existing deals were due to run out at the end of June but the coronavirus pandemic has meant the season will run into July, which has meant that a whole host of clubs have had to extend their players contracts.

Frank Lampard has been eager to keep hold of the pair until at least the end of the season, as he wants to get back inside those top four spots, and it seems that he has got his way on the pair.

“As a result of the global pandemic and the subsequent delayed conclusion to the campaign, Premier League clubs unanimously agreed to be allowed to enter into short-term contract extensions with players whose deals were due to expire at the end of this month,” a club statement read.

“Willian and Pedro were among those affected, and they and the club have now mutually agreed to extend contracts until the finale of the current season.

Look, the news is great and we will get to say goodbye to the pair properly not that they have agreed to help us finish off the Premier League season.
