Chelsea OFFICIALLY Announce midfielder has agreed deal

Academy midfielder Frankie Runham has signed his first professional contract with CHELSEA

The club posted on the club website: ‘Runham joined the Blues at eight years old and became our youngest-ever UEFA Youth League goalscorer at the age of 15 with a strike against Dinamo Zagreb in November 2022.

‘We are delighted Frankie will continue his development at Chelsea,’ said head of youth development and recruitment, Jim Fraser.

‘He has consistently showcased his versatility and quality for our Under 17s and 18s and we look forward to seeing even more as this season progresses.’

‘Runham has represented England at the Under-15 and Under-16 age groups and has also trained with the CHELSEA first team this season.

‘Congratulations, Frankie!’

There have been so many talents that have been let go over the past few seasons by Chelsea as they were not good enough to keep hold – but Runham is a lad that the club have big hopes for.

He has been at the club since he was eight years old – he has developed into a very exciting talent and is certainly a lad that Pochettino may be able to give a chance in the coming seasons.

We are sure that he will get loaned out by the club as he needs to gain some much needed first-team experience – but this is massive news for the lad and his family and will give him the belief that he can make it at Stamford Bridge.
