Chelsea announce midfielder deal – star ‘Happy’ to be at Chelsea after move – Attack open to summer move
Here is all the big news and gossip from icchelseanews that we think you guys could have missed…
Leo Castledine has completed a season-long loan move to Shrewsbury Town after Chelsea made the decision to allow the young man to gain some much needed first team minutes for the next 12 months
Castledine is rated as one of the most talented young players that the club have in that youth squads – but with all the changes that has been happening over the past few months – there is no space in the first team squad to get his chance.
That meant that the decision was made to allow him to go out on loan, and Shrewsbury Town quickly made the decision to get a deal done and after getting the move announced – the Blues have wished the lad all the best
CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘Leo, an Academy graduate, made his debut for our senior team in January when he came off the bench during our Carabao Cup victory against Middlesbrough.
‘Leo has been a regular for our Under-21 side in each of the past two seasons. This is the 19-year-old midfielder’s first loan move and he joins a side bottom of the embryonic League One table with three games played.
‘We wish Leo well in Shropshire and look forward to monitoring and supporting his progress in the months ahead.
‘Good luck, Leo!’
JOAO FELIX HAPPY –
Joao Fekix has opened up and admitted that he is delighted to be back home after making the move to Chelsea this summer.
The Portugal international underwent a medical with the club last week and has put pen to paper on a seven-year contract in west London, tying him to the club until 2031
And after making his debut against Wolves at the weekend – the club caught up with Joao who couldn’t hide his delight at not only returning to Chelsea – a place he says feels like home – but also at helping the side record a first Premier League win of the season.
‘That felt really good!’ Joao said when reflecting on the win at Wolves.
‘First of all, it’s great to be back in the Premier League with CHELSEA and I’m really pleased with the performance of the whole team.
‘That’s the most important thing, to get the win for the team, but of course I’m very happy to have been able to come on and score a goal.’
‘I feel very happy to be back at Chelsea and this really does feel like my home actually,’ added our No.14.
‘I feel really confident whenever I step onto the pitch in a Chelsea shirt. When I came last season, I felt a really good presence within the club, at the training ground, at the stadium and with the fans and I feel it again now.
‘I really can’t put my finger on it but I just feel so happy at CHELSEA, I feel comfortable and outside of Portugal, this really does feel like home to me.
‘The manager gives me confidence. I played as a forward against Wolves, he told me to find spaces in the right pocket and to link up with Cole and Christo.
‘We have a lot of attacking options and it’s exciting to be part of it. Wherever the manager wants me to play in those attacking areas, I’m happy. I just want to help the team and this win was the perfect start [to life at Chelsea].’
STERLING OPEN TO MOVE –
CHELSEA forward Raheem Sterling is open to a move to Manchester United this summer, according to The Guardian as the Blues look to offload the winger before the close of the transfer window.
Italy’s Juventus and Turkey’s Fenerbahce have been linked with Sterling though it seems unlikely either would be able to pay his £300,000-a-week salary which currently makes him the clubs highest earner.
Aston Villa have reportedly been in talks with the Blues about a potential deal for the former Liverpool and Man City star but Sterling has been told he has no chance of moving to another Premier League club after Enzo Maresca said he had no future at Chelsea.
The 29-year-old has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge and is set to hold talks with the hierarchy over his contractual situation before pressing ahead with a move away.
United are among the teams interested in signing the England international, with a swap deal involving Jadon Sancho mooted, and he is now reportedly open to the idea of a move to the Manchester giants.
Amid all the speculation and rumours – former Blues star Emmanuel Petit has opened up and encouraged the likes of Sterling to leave the club if he has the opportunity too: “If you’re Sterling or any CHELSEA player and have the chance to leave the club, I would take it. Honestly, I don’t see how Enzo Maresca can rescue this, he’s not a magician,” he told Safest Casino Sites.
“You could put Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp in charge of the team and it will still take months to find a first XI and make everyone happy in the squad. They’re all young players signing huge contracts for eight to nine years
