Chelsea talent George McEachran has today joined Dutch side SC Cambuur on loan until the end of the season.

It is deadline day here in the Premier League and there has been so much speculation in the media about the possible comings and goings to and from Stamford Bridge during the transfer window, as Frank Lampard seeks to get some very late deals done.

But we almost missed the news that young McEachran has managed to secure himself a move away from the club as he will now spend the rest of the season over in the Dutch Leagues.

The midfielder, 19, signed a new three-year contract with Chelsea in July 2019 ahead of the current season, having been part of the Academy since the age of eight.

McEachran has yet to make his senior debut, though he did make the bench in two Europa League games last year, including in the last group match against Hungarian side Videoton and the final against Arsenal as well.

The Dutch side announced: “With George we’re getting someone with technique, a good understanding of the game and running ability. He links the play well and, with his qualities, is a welcome reinforcement.”

An Under-17 World Cup winner with England in 2017, McEachran will now aim to further his development with SC Cambuur who currently sit top of the Eerste Divisie, the second tier of Dutch football.

Look, Chelsea have one of the best acadimies in the game after acquitting some of the best talent around, so the news that this lad will get some much need game time at a ecent level will do wonders for his confidence.

Nobody wants to see the young man sitting on the bench on a weekly basis or fighting for a reserve place, so many Chelsea fans will surely wish the young man the best of luck.
