Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews that we think you guys could have missed featuring Enzo Maresca, Josh Acheampong and Cesare Casedai…

CHELSEA have officially confirmed that they are pleased to announce defender Josh Acheampong has signed a new contract until 2029 and ended all speculation that he could look to leave the club in the immediate future.

The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Josh joined the Blues’ development centre programme as an Under-8 and has since worked his way through the youth ranks at Cobham.

He made his Under-18s debut on the final day of the 2021/22 campaign and became a regular in the side the following season.

Comfortable in multiple positions across the backline, Josh also made his mark on the international stage, featuring for England at the Under-17 European Championships in the summer of 2023 and the Under-17 World Cup the following November.

The 2023/24 campaign proved an important one for Josh.

He signed his first professional contract, helped our Under-18s win the Premier League southern title, stepped up to Under-21s football, and was handed a memorable first-team debut against Tottenham Hotspur.

Introduced in front of the Stamford Bridge faithful, Josh helped the Blues see out the final minutes of a 2-0 victory.

Having celebrated his 18th birthday in May, Josh was then part of the senior squad that travelled to the United States for our summer tour. He then made his second senior outing against Barrow in September.

A full debut arrived last week as Josh started in our Europa Conference League victory over Astana in Kazakhstan. He was also named among the substitutes for our victory over Brentford on Sunday.

Congratulations on your new deal, Josh!’

Great news

CASEDAI CLOSE TO EXIT

CHELSEA are reportedly close to agreeing a loan deal with AC Milan for Cesare Casadei, according to reports in Italy as the young man is pushing for a move away.

The 21-year-old has played a little over ten times for the club and while he was close to departing the club in the summer, potentially on a loan deal, he ended up staying at Stamford Bridge.

He’s yet to play in the Premier League in the campaign, and despite the manager not picking him, Casadei has revealed to TuttoSport in an interview that Enzo Maresca played a key role in keeping him at Stamford Bridge.

But According to according to Fichajes., Chelsea and Milan are ‘quickly’ advancing their negotiations over a six-month loan deal for Casadei ahead of the January transfer window.

The report claims that Milan are aiming to have the midfielder registered as soon as the window opens on January 2.

Italy under-21 boss Carmine Nunziata recently claimed that he believed a move away in the winter could benefit the youngster: “Last year Cesare had a good first part with Leicester, then he went to Chelsea and played little,” Nunziata told Rai Radio 1 Sport. “This year they [Chelsea] kept him there, I advised him to see how it goes until January, otherwise it’s right to look around for another solution.

“The important thing is that the boys play. If they find a team in Italy, even better. But the experience abroad is also formative. For example, after playing in Switzerland, I found [Mattia] Zanotti to have improved a lot and grown a lot.”

MARESCA TOLD TO SIGN STOPPER

Pundit Jamie Carragher has opened up and told CHELSEA that they still need to sign a new goalkeeper because he cannot see Robert Sanchez helping the club to win that Premier League title.

Everyone has been socked by the start to the season that we have had, they are second in the Premier League and looking like a side that will be very hard to stop this season as Enzo Maresca has made a massive impact.

But despite that great start to the season, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes they still need to improve the goalkeeping area by signing new players in the coming transfer windows – In words quoted by Blue Footy this week, Carragher said:

“When I look at the things that worry me about CHELSEA in terms of winning the league – a goalkeeper and maybe two centre-backs – Goodison Park is the type of place where something like that could show up.

“If they [Chelsea] can go to Goodison and keep a clean sheet and win, you think, oh, OK. That’s one of those results where it’s a team near the bottom but you know it’s a tough place to go.

“Chelsea have been so impressive this season.

‘I just can’t imagine the goalkeeper (Robert Sanchez) lifting [the Premier League trophy].”

Look, Sanchez does not really do too many things wrong and cost the club too many goals, it is that defence that has been an issue and that is why a new stopper is not really a priority for the club
