Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icchelseanews that we think you may have missed featuring Kai Crampton, Marc Guehi and Aniek Nouwen…

Aniek Nouwen has penned a contract extension with CHELSEA which will keep the defender at the club until the summer of 2026, the Blues have officially announced on the club website.

After signing her new contract, Nouwen said: ‘I am very grateful for this extension and the trust. I am looking forward to returning to action and continuing my journey.’

Head of women’s football Paul Green added: ‘Aniek continues to make good progress with her rehabilitation and we are happy to extend her contract.

‘We will monitor her fitness over the course of this month with a view to a possible loan move this window.’

The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Upon her move to London, Nouwen had to bide her time for first-team action but would go on to make her first start against Leicester City in October 2021 before scoring her first two goals for the Blues against the Foxes in the FA Cup and a Women’s Super League clash later in the campaign.

‘She started and played 69 minutes in the 2021/22 FA Cup final win over Manchester City at Wembley, adding a cup triumph to her maiden WSL trophy at the club.

‘The defender made four appearances during the first half of the following season, before penning a new deal until 2025. Nouwen then spent the second half of the campaign on loan in Italy with AC Milan.

‘An appearance from the bench was Nouwen’s only Chelsea outing last season as she, unfortunately, sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury while on international duty with the Netherlands Under-23s squad.

‘Before signing for Chelsea, Nouwen impressed in her homeland. She made her debut for PSV in 2016 and went on to make more than 100 appearances, lifting the KNVB Cup in 2021.

‘On the international stage, the defender represented the Netherlands at youth level before making her senior bow in 2019. She is approaching 50 appearances for the national team and has competed at the Olympics and the 2023 World Cup.

‘Everyone at CHELSEA would like to congratulate Aniek on signing her new contract and we look forward to seeing her return to action.’

CRAMPTON DEAL ANNOUNCED

Academy goalkeeper Kai Crampton has completed a permanent transfer to Bournemouth, after the decision was made by CHELSEA that he would be allowed to leave the club on a permanent basis.

The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Crampton joined Chelsea through our development centre at Under-8s level and progressed through the ranks at Cobham.

‘During the 2023/24 season, he appeared for the Under-18 Premier League South-winning side and was goalkeeper in our Under-17 Premier League Cup final win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

‘Crampton made four Under-18s appearances in the league and cup this season and featured twice for National League South side Hampton & Richmond on a matchday loan.

‘We wish Kai all the best as he embarks on the next chapter of his career.’

AFC Bournemouth development squad goalkeeping coach Charlie Philpott said: “We are pleased to have Kai sign with us.

“He is a good young goalkeeper who has previously had some good experiences within England’s youth setup as well as in the men’s environment with Hampton & Richmond in recent years.

“He’ll come into a competitive and improving PDP goalkeeping setup with us at AFC Bournemouth and we’re looking forward to seeing how he develops in the coming seasons.”

It is sad to see the young man leave the club, but at the end of the day, it is probably the best decision from him as we have far too many quality players ahead of him in the pecking order.

MARC GUEHI WANTED

Reports claim CHELSEA wants to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi now that the January transfer window is open

Guehi has been brilliant for Crystal Palace over the past few seasons, his stock in the game has really risen and he is now rated as one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and a player that we have been linked with signing, for a fee of £70 million.

The reports claim that a number of players are being lined up by the club to improve certain areas of the side, and adding a new centre-back that is already proven in the Premier League is something the board are very much open too.

And amid all the speculation and rumours, Stanley has claimed that Guéhi’s success at Crystal Palace has proven his ability to perform consistently at the highest level, and could be a great addition to that Blues back-line, he said: ‘One of Chelsea’s glaring issues has been the absence of a vocal and commanding presence in defense. He is already captain material at Crystal Palace, could fill this void.

‘Guéhi’s ball-playing ability makes him an ideal fit for a manager like Enzo Maresca, who values defenders capable of building from the back. His accurate passing and comfort in possession would complement Chelsea’s modern, possession-heavy approach.

‘Re-signing Marc Guéhi would address multiple concerns for CHELSEA: improving defensive solidity, injecting leadership, and securing a homegrown talent. With the Blues desperate for defensive consistency, Guéhi’s return could be a pivotal step in their quest to challenge for that Premier League title once again.’
