Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that you guys may have missed from icchelseanews guys…

Guro Reiten has completed a move from Chelsea Women to Gotham FC, bringing an end to a highly successful spell in English football.

Reiten joined CHELSEA from Norwegian side LSK Kvinner FK in 2019 and quickly established herself as one of the most influential players in the squad. Known for her creativity, crossing ability and consistent goal contributions, she became a key figure under head coach Emma Hayes during a period of domestic dominance.

During her time at Chelsea, Reiten helped the club secure multiple Women’s Super League titles as well as domestic cup triumphs, playing a crucial role in the team’s attacking play from the left flank. Her vision and delivery from wide areas made her a regular provider of assists, while she also chipped in with important goals in league and European competition.

CHELSEA thanked the Norwegian for her contribution across five seasons, praising her professionalism and impact on the club’s success. Reiten leaves having made well over a century of appearances for the Blues and having been widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted players in the squad.

The Blues posted: ‘Everyone at Chelsea would like to sincerely thank Guro for her huge contribution to our success over the last six-and-a-half years, and we wish her well during the next chapter of her career in the United States.’

Speaking after the move was confirmed by Chelsea, Reiten said the opportunity to play in the United States was an exciting new chapter in her career.

Good move for Reiten?

Guro has been world class for so many seasons, so to see her leave the club is a sad day. But she has not been the player of previous seasons and this was the right time to leave the club.

Good luck and thank you for all the success you helped bring to the club,

CALAFIORI LINKED

Chelsea are exploring a summer move for Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori, with a proposed fee of around £42 million being mentioned as a possible fee.

The Italian only arrived at Arsenal recently but has quickly developed into a player highly valued by Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff. Comfortable at both left-back and left centre-back, Calafiori’s composure in possession and progressive passing have made him an ideal fit for Arsenal’s tactical approach, which prioritises defenders capable of building attacks from deep.

CHELSEA’s reported interest is therefore unsurprising. The west London club continues to reshape its squad under its long-term recruitment strategy, focusing heavily on young players with high ceilings. Calafiori ticks several boxes: he is young, technically gifted, and already has experience at both club and international level with Italy.

However, the idea that Arsenal would consider selling to a direct Premier League rival for £42 million seems highly doubtful.

Firstly, Arsenal do not need to sell. The club’s financial position has strengthened significantly in recent years due to consistent Champions League qualification and improved commercial revenue. That means they are under little pressure to cash in on a player who is only just beginning to establish himself in Arteta’s squad.

There is also the simple matter of rivalry. Transfers between Arsenal and Chelsea are rare and often contentious, particularly when they involve players still seen as key to the squad. Selling to a competitor strengthens that rival both on the pitch and psychologically.

Will Chelsea really make a move for Calafiori?

Look, we dont know where this rumour came from, we dont know why CHELSEA are being linked with the Italian. but we do know that he will not make the move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, and to be honest, he is not really wanted.

He has not been that impressive for Arsenal and there is a reason why they are open to letting him go so soon after getting a transfer deal done last summer.

CHELSEA WANTS EL MALA

Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign highly rated winger Said El Mala from 1. FC Köln ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to reports in Germany, the 19-year-old attacker has emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents in the Bundesliga, attracting interest from several Premier League clubs including Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle United. CHELSEA are now believed to have made contact over a potential move as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

El Mala has enjoyed a breakout season in Germany, impressing with his pace, direct dribbling and attacking flair on the wing. The Germany youth international has already contributed 12 goals and assists across competitions this season, underlining his growing reputation as one of the league’s emerging prospects.

Brighton have been long-term admirers of the forward and previously had a bid of around €30 million rejected earlier this year, while Köln are believed to value him closer to €40-50 million as his stock continues to rise.

CHELSEA’s interest reflects the club’s continued focus on recruiting elite young players with long-term potential. The Blues have heavily invested in youth prospects in recent transfer windows, particularly attacking talents who can develop into future first-team regulars.

Would El Mala be a good signing?

El Mala fits the profile that elite clubs are targeting: young, technically gifted, and already producing at senior level. His ability to beat defenders, create chances and score from wide positions gives him the attributes needed to thrive in the Premier League.

The risk, of course, is experience. He is still early in his career, and stepping into English football can be a major challenge for young players. Spending close to €50 million means expectations would be high from the start.
