Directors announce delight at latest big Chelsea deal

CHELSEA Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley have announced their delighted that Levi Colwill has agreed a new contract at the club.
Colwill is now regarded as one of the most exciting young defenders in the Premier League, and a player that Mauricio Pochettino has big plans for over the next couple of seasons.
It was confirmed this week that the 20-year-old has signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge. It runs until 2029, and there is a club option for a further 12 months.
And after seeing the deal get done Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley announced just how delighted they are.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
He said: ‘Levi is an outstanding player who has risen to every challenge in his career so far. We are thrilled he will remain at Chelsea for years to come.
‘His journey from academy to first team is testament to his talent, dedication, and determination. Everyone at the club is now looking forward to watching him thrive at Stamford Bridge in the seasons ahead.’
And after seeing the deal get announced – Gary Cahil opened up and claimed that Colwill has great potential.
He says: ‘Playing for CHELSEA – throughout my time at the club – as a centre-back you are expected to be comfortable building from the back. There was never a coach who told the goalkeeper to hit it long every two minutes.
‘There’s more to it, of course. You look at attributes you want in a centre-back and ask: Is he tall and good in the air? Does he have good presence? Is he quick? Does he take up good positions to receive the ball? Is he composed on the ball?
‘Levi Colwill has those attributes – now he must keep learning and progressing.
