Boss announces delight after Official Chelsea deal is signed, sealed and delivered

Sheffield United have completed the signing of Ethan Ampadu on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

In 2018, the now 13 times capped Wales international, penned a new five-year deal in the capital and was sent out on-loan to RB Leipzig by Frank Lampard to further his development last season.

The former Exeter City star has been playing more for Wales than any club side and was a class act in their win over Finland, which prompted United to make their move and take him on-loan this season.

Upon sealing the deal, Blades boss Chris Wilder said on the Sky Sports w#website: “Ethan is an outstanding young player for Chelsea, and we’ve worked really hard to get his signature for the season.

“We need to thank Frank Lampard and the people at Chelsea for helping making this happen. We’ve got a good relationship with them and they know we’re going to take good care of him.

“It’s an important season for Ethan and playing in the Premier League for us is a good move for everyone. He brings a lot of qualities to the group and he’s someone we’ve tracked for two or three seasons.”

Ampadu is an exciting young player that has real ability to be a big star for us in the future, so event though we believe that he is good enough to make an impact on the side right now, this is a great move for the lad to make.

United are a good side that play good football and he will surely get some valuable experience.

Good Luck Amps!
