CHELSEA outcast Marc Cucurella could be set for a shock loan move to Manchester United as both clubs are in contact over a deal.

After establishing himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League during his time with Brighton – the club made the move to bring him to Stamford Bridge in a deal that was worth £50 million.

There was alot of hype surrounding the player and his ability – but he has failed to leave a mark on that side and According to a recent report on Spanish newspaper Marca, that has prompted the club to try and cut their losses on the defender and it is claimed that he was offered to Atletico Madrid.

However – a move to Spain never happened as he wanted to stay at the club this summer and fight for his place in the side – but it now seems that he could be set for a more after all.

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

The Athletic report the Red Devils and Blues are locked in talks over a deal for the Spaniard.

Cucurella has been an unused substitute in our first three games, and the London giants would be willing to let him leave.

Given how much he has struggled, this would be a stunning transfer.

SHOULD CUCURELLA STAY AND FIGHT FOR HIS PLACE?

Cucurella was never going to be number one at Stamford Bridge – he was only signed because Ben Chilwell kept getting injured – so he was going to have to get used to sitting on the bench.

We are not surprised to see the Spaniard linked with a move away from London – it is just a shame if he leaves.
