Alaba wants £350,00-a-week contract with Chelsea all set to open talks

David Alaba will become Chelsea’s best-paid player if he completes a reported £350,000-a-week switch from Bayern Munich.

Since making his first-team debut under Louis van Gaal in 2010, Alaba has gone on to make almost 400 appearances for the club in all competitions, and in that time, he has won nine Bundesliga titles, five DFB-Pokals and the Champions League.

However, The Austrian international is out of contract at the end of the season – having rejected a new deal reportedly worth £190,000 a week – and despite being a key player for the European champions, he could be on the move.

That has led to reports in the media that we are one of the clubs that are very interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for Alaba, and will open talks about bringing him to the club when the winter window opens up in just a few weeks time.

German publication Bild report that if we do manage to secure a transfer deal to bring Alaba to the Premier League, he will be the highest paid player at the club as he is demanding around £350,000-a-week.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also all linked but Alaba‘s wage demands may be a big stumbling block, but the club do have the funds right now to give him the contract that he desires.

There is no much more we can say about this deal as we believe that he would be a fantastic signing for us, he really is world class.

And the fact that they may be able to get him on a free deal, that would be one of the bargains of the transfer window right?
