CHELSEAhave reportedly agreed a deal with Lyon boss Sonia Bompastor to succeed the departing Emma Hayes at the end of the season.

Emma Hayes guided the team to an historic double on two occasions and achieved one domestic treble. and She has been named FA WSL Manager of the Season on six occasions and LMA WSL Manager of the Season five times. She was inducted into the WSL Hall of Fame in 2021.

But the decision was made earlier in the season that she would be leaving the club in the summer window – as she wanted to experience a new challenge after winning so much success with the Blues.

And according to the Telegraph, we have now agreed a deal for Bompastor and her assistant Camille Abily to join the club this summer.

The reports claims that we have been pushing to secure an agreement for Bompastor, but Lyon had been determined to keep their head coach

Bompastor’s attack-minded philosophy has resulted in Lyon becoming one of the women game’s most-feared teams after previously winning the league with an unbeaten record during her first full season in charge.

The 43-year-old has led the club to the French title in the last two seasons, as well as the Coupe de France in 2023.
